Scholarships
We have begun to grant educational scholarships to women who are working toward becoming teachers in Malawi. The women chosen are both students at Chancellor College in Zomba, Malawi.
Two wonderful organizations have donated money to us to enable us to distribute these scholarships:
Zonta International
Calvary Episcopal Church, Stonington, CT
The women completed applications that they emailed to us. Here are samples of their essay questions that they answered; you will see why they were chosen to receive these scholarships.

We have created a new scholarship category to combine with our mission of encouraging and supporting education in the country of Malawi.
This award is less specific in its criteria. We have chosen Mathew Kasanjola (below) to receive the first award to assist him in furthering his education in accountancy. Mathew has a desire to further his education which will assist him in furthering the economic advancement of his country.
Mathew has been working on his degree in accounting for several years and is dedicated to his studies. He has assisted Educate Malawi, Inc. in maintaining communications about the Namitsitsi classroom block project.
Congratulations to them all! We look forward to giving out many more scholarships to young men and women who wish to help Educate Malawi!!
As of January 2012 Educate Malawi has opened up another round of scholarships that are available at Chancellor College. Stay tuned for the details about that.
